Unfortunately, all locks can be cut with the right tools and enough time. The exact time it takes depends on several factors, including the power of the angle grinder, the type of cutting discs used and the skill of the user.

During our own testing and independent testing, we found that both the LITELOK X1 MINI and LITELOK X1 PLUS are at least 5 times more resistant to angle grinder attacks than current leading D‑locks, requiring multiple cutting discs to make a successful cut. This significantly increases the time, effort, and noise involved — making the bike a far less attractive target for thieves.

The X1 MINI and X1 PLUS are built for different locking situations, even though both use the same Barronium® angle-grinder-resistant armour.

• LITELOK X1 MINI is shorter, lighter and designed for maximum portability. It’s ideal for securing wheels, compact frames, or as a secondary lock when space is limited.
• LITELOK X1 PLUS features an extended internal length (60 mm longer than the standard X1), making it better suited for larger frames, thicker bike stands, awkward street furniture, or locking multiple bikes together.

Used together, the X1 PLUS provides reach and flexibility, while the X1 MINI adds fast, compact secondary protection.

This bundle is designed to give you maximum locking flexibility.
Use the X1 PLUS when you need extra reach or are locking in challenging environments, and the X1 MINI when you want fast, compact secondary protection. Together, they allow you to double-lock your bike or adapt easily to different parking situations.

Both locks offer full‑sized internal locking space, but are designed for different use cases:

• LITELOK X1 MINI has a compact internal locking space of approximately 99.5 × 137 mm, making it ideal for wheel locking, smaller frames, tight stands, or use as a secondary lock.
• LITELOK X1 PLUS features an extended internal locking space of approximately 101 × 255 mm, giving you significantly more reach to lock around larger frames, thicker street furniture, or multiple bikes where standard U-locks may not fit.

Used together, the X1 MINI provides compact security where space is limited, while the X1 PLUS adds the reach and flexibility needed for more challenging locking situations.

Yes, both locks can be carried on your bike, but they use different Tactical Mounts due to their size differences.

• LITELOK X1 PLUS is compatible with the X1 Tactical Mount (sold separately), which allows the lock to be securely mounted to the bike frame for everyday riding. The mount is designed to hold the lock firmly in place, even on rough roads.
  
• LITELOK X1 MINI uses the X1 MINI Tactical Mount (sold separately), which is specifically sized for the Mini’s more compact profile. Many riders also choose to carry the X1 MINI in a bag, or use alternative solutions such as the Restrap Holster, depending on their setup.
  

Please note that Tactical Mounts are model‑specific — the X1 Tactical Mount is designed for the X1 and X1 PLUS, while the X1 MINI requires its own specific Tactical Mount. All mounts and carrying accessories are sold separately unless otherwise stated.

Yes. Both locks are Sold Secure Bicycle Diamond and Powered Cycle Diamond certified, making this bundle suitable for bikes, e-bikes and motorcycles in urban and higher‑risk locking environments where maximum deterrence is essential.

Yes. Both the LITELOK X1 MINI and LITELOK X1 PLUS have been independently tested by recognised testing bodies including Sold Secure and ART.

Both locks achieve Sold Secure Bicycle Diamond and Powered Cycle Diamond certification, as well as ART4, representing the highest levels of independent security testing currently available.

Sold Secure is owned and administered by the Master Locksmiths Association and testing is carried out in purpose-built laboratories in the UK.

Our founder and CEO, Professor Neil Barron, supported by Innovate UK, worked closely with some of the world’s leading material scientists for over 5 years to develop Barronium®, our ground breaking angle grinder resistant technology.

LITELOK X1 range is built with Barronium®, a patented anti-angle grinder material that is applied as a permanently fused composite armour, providing maximum cut resistance and protection from angle grinder attacks. The Barronium® layer repels angle grinder discs.

The X range comprises of three layers of protection:  

1. A fine-grain, hardened high‑tensile steel core providing strength against twisting, leverage, and multiple tool attacks
2. Patented Barronium® armour, permanently fused to the steel core, designed to repel angle-grinder cutting discs
3. A plant-based eco-rubber outer layer, soft to the touch to help protect your bike frame from damage

This construction gives both locks the same high level of resistance, with differences focused on size and reach rather than materials.

There is no physical or technical difference between the Bike and Moto versions of LITELOK X‑range locks — including the X1 MINI and X1 PLUS. They are exactly the same locks, using the same materials, construction, and security technologies.

The Bike and Moto naming is used solely to help riders understand how a lock can be applied across different use cases, such as bicycles, e-bikes and motorcycles. The lock itself remains unchanged, only the intended application.

Both the LITELOK X1 MINI and LITELOK X1 PLUS are covered by a 3‑year warranty, providing peace of mind against mechanical or operational faults arising from normal use.

The warranty does not cover cosmetic wear and tear. We recommend registering your lock and keys so that, in the event keys are lost, replacements can be ordered easily.
