The twist mount the lock came with is well thought out and easy to use, but necessarily not rock solid, and after a few months it became floppy enough that I wanted something really rigidly secure for my big heavy lock.
The tactical mount takes more mental effort and physical dexterity when placing and removing the lock, but once it's in it's clamped in solidly. It is, as they say, not going anywhere. Which is what I wanted. The level of annoyance is noticeable but not enough to make me want to switch back, given the benefits.

Having just purchased a litlok X1 for my bike I chose to purchase the tactical amount. Extremely easy to attached to the bicycle and a particularly like the way the lock is secured into the mount. Not only is it firmly held in place and doesn’t rattle but by threading the D lock through a hole in the mount it means that nobody can remove the D lock from the mount.
It certainly helps to advertise the lock as a solid piece of security. Would recommend this product for anyone

I havent used the lock mount enough yet to be sure, but sometimes Im not sure it will hold the lock totally in place while riding. That is why I give 4 stars in product quality. Its hopefully really 5. Otherwise the mount is impressivley designed to handle such a beefy lock, but that design may make instructions about the install on the bike more difficult...
The mount is unique and relatively easy to use once you get the hang of it.
There is no installation manual. I think having one would have helped greatly. The video, on line, whist looking like professional quality, is lit in a way that doesnt allow the mount to contrast well with the background, thus making it difficult to see what is really being done. I had to stop and rewind multiple times in different sections of the video before I was successful in installing the mount which was frustrating and more time consuming that I think was necessary. this is the main reason i give 4 stars overall, not 5.

Very please with this. Very easy to fit and protects the frame from damage. You can fit it many ways to your preference and protective strips protect the frame from scratches. Overall a well designed piece of kit.
