Can X3 be cut with an angle grinder?
Unfortunately, all locks can be cut with the right tools and enough time. The exact time it takes depends on a number of factors like the power of the angle grinder, the type of discs used and the skill of the user. During our own and independent tests we found that X3 is at least 20 times more angle grinder resistant than the current leading d-lock as well as needing multiple discs and batteries to cut it.
How much does LITELOK X3 weigh?
LITELOK X3 weighs approximately 2.1kgs or 4.6lbs.
What's the difference between X3 Bike and X3 Moto?
There is no difference between the Bike and Moto versions. They are exactly the same locks. The reason why we differentiate them is to show how X3 can be used as an effective security device for all types of bicycles and motorcycles.
What's the difference between X1 and X3?
LITELOK X1 and X3 are both highly resistant to angle grinder cuts. This resistance comes from the layers of Barronium™ that each lock features. X3 uses a higher amount of Barronium™ meaning it has a higher resistance to angle grinder cuts than X1. X1 has at least 5 times the resistance to angle grinder cuts compared to the best selling d-locks whereas X3 has at least 20 times the resistance.
What is the locking circumference of LITELOK X3?
LITELOK X3 has a full-sized locking circumference of approximately 100 x 195mm.
Has LITELOK X3 been independently tested?
Yes, it has been thoroughly tested by Sold Secure and both locks achieve Sold Secure Powered Cycle and Pedal Cycle Diamond levels (the highest ratings available). It has also been tested by ART, and certified ART4.
(Note: Sold Secure is owned and administered by the Master Locksmiths Association (a not-for-profit trade association) and works from purpose built laboratories in the UK.

Our founder and CEO, Professor Neil Barron, supported by Innovate UK, worked closely with some of the world’s leading material scientists for over 5 years to develop Barronium®, our ground breaking angle grinder resistant technology.
What is LITELOK X3 made from?
LITELOK X3 is built with Barronium®, a patent-pending anti-angle grinder material that is applied as a permanently fused composite armour, providing maximum cut resistance and protection from angle grinder attacks. The Barronium® layer repels angle grinder discs.
The X range comprises of three layers of protection:
1. A fine-grain, hardened high-tensile steel core providing inner strength against multiple tool attacks
2. Barronium® anti-angle grinder armour, permanently fused to the core to repel angle grinder discs
3. A plant-based eco-rubber outer layer is soft to touch, so it won't damage your frame.
What is the warranty?
LITELOK X3 is sold with a 7-year warranty to provide peace of mind and covers mechanical or operational faults through normal usage. The warranty does not cover aesthetic wear and tear. It is important to register your lock and keys with us so that in the event that you lose your keys, replacements can be ordered.

I bought the Litelok X3 a while ago because I'd had enough of worrying about bike theft, and I'm glad I did in all honesty. The first thing you're getting is the feel of it – the thing is a tank. It is a bit heavier than a normal lock, but to me that just is a source of greater reassurance. I'd rather feel a bit of that additional weight in my bag and not come back with no bike at all.
To use it on a day-to-day basis has been simple. The locking is smooth, the keys are sturdy, and it does not take long to lock my bike up, something I truly value when I do not have time to waste. It fits around my wheel without a hitch, and when it is in place, I feel my bike is securely locked up.
What sealed the deal for me though was an incident that transpired recently. Thieves actually tried to steal my bike but the lock itself deterred them. They didn't even try to grind through it when they found out what they were facing. That experience opened my eyes to the fact that this lock is every penny worth it literally saved my bike.
Yes, it’s expensive and yes, it’s a bit heavy, but honestly the peace of mind it gives me is priceless. If you own a bike you care about, especially in a high-risk area, I can’t recommend the Litelok X3 enough.

The X3 is a substantial bit of kit. Nicely packaged with a handy neoprene cover, which you could place on your wing mirror as a reminder you lock is on. The locking mechanism is silky smooth and comes with 2 keys which are replaceable through Litelok. It fits nicely through the hub of the BMW GS1300 Adventure and provides a nice theft deterrent.

I bought the X3 to help secure a new motorbike, seems to be a good choice so far. Soft covering protects the wheel from any scratches, lighter than other options and a good lock mechanism.
Only challenge is where/how to mount it on the bike to take with & use away from home. Not all bikes have panniers, I don't want panniers, but Litelok only sell a bicycle mount which does not hold the lock securely enough to fasten to a slide bar or frame.
Something for them to think about, but for now it's mostly used to lock up the bike at home. Can't say more as thankfully noone has had a go at breaking it yet.
