"On a typical Friday night around 11:45 PM, my partner received a notification on her phone from the Cowboy app—a theft alert for her bike. At first, we thought it might just be a false alarm, perhaps triggered by someone parking close by.

But to be safe, we decided to check it out. Though we live in a relatively crime-free area, both our Cowboy bikes were parked outside after all. As we walked towards our bikes outside on a few minutes later, the faint but unmistakable sound of drilling filled the air.

Given the late hour, nearly midnight, it didn’t take long for us to suspect the worst: an angle grinder attack. Heart pounding, I made a run for our bikes and managed to ward off the three would-be thieves.

Nearby residents had witnessed the whole event from their balconies and caught it on tape. They told us that the thieves had been at it for a while, struggling to get through the Litelok X1 securing our Cowboy bikes.

Thanks to the X1’s impressive strength, their attempts had been unsuccessful—something no regular lock would have likely withstood as long. The police arrived shortly after, but it was clear: without the Litelok X1, our bikes would have been long gone."
