Reflective Strips

Frequently Asked Questions
Can X3 be cut with an angle grinder?
Unfortunately, all locks can be cut with the right tools and enough time. The exact time it takes depends on a number of factors like the power of the angle grinder, the type of discs used and the skill of the user. During our own and independent tests we found that X3 is at least 20 times more angle grinder resistant than the current leading D-locks as well as needing multiple discs and batteries to cut it.
How much does LITELOK X3 weigh?
LITELOK X3 weighs approximately 2.1kgs or 4.6lbs.
What's the difference between X3 Bike and X3 Moto?
There is no difference between the Bike and Moto versions. They are exactly the same locks. The reason why we differentiate them is to show how X3 can be used as an effective security device for all types of bicycles and motorcycles.
What's the difference between X1 and X3?
LITELOK X1 and X3 are both highly resistant to angle grinder cuts. This resistance comes from the layers of Barronium® that each lock features. X3 uses a higher amount of Barronium® meaning it has a higher resistance to angle grinder cuts than X1. X1 has at least 5 times the resistance to angle grinder cuts compared to the best selling D-locks whereas X3 has at least 20 times the resistance.
What is the locking circumference of LITELOK X3?
LITELOK X3 has a full-sized locking circumference of approximately 100 x 195mm.
Has LITELOK X3 been independently tested?
Yes, it has been thoroughly tested by Sold Secure and both locks achieve Sold Secure Powered Cycle and Pedal Cycle Diamond levels (the highest ratings available). It has also been tested by ART, and certified ART4.
(Note: Sold Secure is owned and administered by the Master Locksmiths Association (a not-for-profit trade association) and works from purpose built laboratories in the UK.

Our founder and CEO, Professor Neil Barron, supported by Innovate UK, worked closely with some of the world’s leading material scientists for over 5 years to develop Barronium®, our ground breaking angle grinder resistant technology.
What is LITELOK X3 made from?
LITELOK X3 is built with Barronium®, a patent-pending anti-angle grinder material that is applied as a permanently fused composite armour, providing maximum cut resistance and protection from angle grinder attacks. The Barronium® layer repels angle grinder discs.
The X range comprises of three layers of protection:
1. A fine-grain, hardened high-tensile steel core providing inner strength against multiple tool attacks
2. Barronium® anti-angle grinder armour, permanently fused to the core to repel angle grinder discs
3. A plant-based eco-rubber outer layer is soft to touch, so it won't damage your frame.
What is the warranty?
LITELOK X3 is sold with a 7-year warranty to provide peace of mind and covers mechanical or operational faults through normal usage. The warranty does not cover aesthetic wear and tear. It is important to register your lock and keys with us so that in the event that you lose your keys, replacements can be ordered.

I hope I never have it tested by a thief but I’m confident it will not be easily defeated! However, as a deterrent and for peace of mind, there’s none better. It’s a bit heavier than I expected but I guess that’s the penalty you pay for the best security. I did purchase a carrier for the lock, thinking I could mount it on my passenger grips or engine bars but found that impractical so I’m resigned to carrying it in my topbox. Nonetheless, I won’t leave home without it nor park overnight or in a busy town without using it. I also have a tracker fitted but the Litelok X3 is a real, visual deterrent. Finally, it is expensive but worth it.

Thought I had a strong lock previously with the Kryptonite Fahgettaboudit, but was horrified after seeing how fast an angle grinder can cut through it on Youtube. My new X3 gives me full confidence to leave my bike out and deter would be thieves. It's pricey but for the quality and reassurance it gives, it is worth every penny. Great mounts for this is X3 tactical mount or the Huldit Bike lock holder (Large). Highly Recommend.

It's sheer heft is so off putting, it says 'don't bother trying' to thieves.
Quick and easy to attach and detach the lock to and from the bike with its ingenious tactical mount. I've attached the mount onto the vertical down seat post as there's no horizontal post on this particular 'step-through' bike and it fits very nicely.

Absolutely solid unit and while nothing is 100% sure this lock is about the best you can get! The practicalities of cutting through this lock means that it's realistically too hard to do on the streets so it gives me a load of peace of mind using it.
